Think of Darya as a ray of energy, positivism, and optimism. Her passion for making a difference in the society and giving back to the community was what drove her to start a Generocksity branch in Hamilton with her wonderful team mates. Being from Vancouver defines Darya, as she is always found doing something active outdoors. She is second year student studying Life Sciences at McMaster University and is hoping to take her studies further by specializing in child medicine. Darya’s love for kids was what motivated her to volunteer for the BC Children’s Hospital and she is also taking her studies a step further by volunteering in a lab for Diabetic Research. She is an avid public speaker and spoken word poet who loves to travel and experience the cultures every country has to offer. If she’s not out on the court shooting hoops, studying for her next exam, or spending time with her friends and family, she is brainstorming new ways to allow Generocksity to grow. Generocksity has become a part of her, and Darya hopes that it will become a part of the lives of many in the near future.
Pursuing her Bachelors degree in Social Psychology at McMaster University, Laila has taken her passion for understanding and analyzing human interactions and has integrated this into her future career goals. She joined Generocksity with the belief that a collective passion and determined mindset can move mountains- changing peoples’ lives for the better. She was thrilled to become a part of making those beliefs come true through her role as VP Communications. Math has always been her enemy and pushed her towards using writing as an outlet for self-expression and exploring creative boundaries. Generocksity has taken her interest in philanthropy and made it a permanent and active part of her everyday life. She hopes to share our organization’s philanthropic passion with the larger community so that we can come together with a purpose to do better and better.

She is a ray of sunshine and has brought her optimism to the Generocksity Team as their biggest cheerleader and vital team member. She is honoured to be a member of this initiative and hopes that together we can inspire more people and show them how easily philanthropy can be incorporated into their lives.
